I thought of several of them. Why not the original version of "Cum On Feel The Noize" from 1973 by Slade, which was made more universally a successful popular charted hit nearly a decade later by the Quiet Riot with their version.

- The original version of the song "The Tide Is High" from 1967 by the Paragons, before the song was re-recorded & became a hit with Blondie's version in 1980.

- The original version of the song "I Love Rock N' Roll" from 1975 by the Arrows, before Joan Jett recorded her hit version released in 1981 or 1982.

The song "Kitty" by pop group Racey, which is the original version of the charted hit "Hey Mickey" by Toni Basil, before Toni re-recorded & retitled it in 1982 to be the hit it became today.
