To me, Pop Music (I've been actively listening since 1960, with my Mom) has always been poetry put to music, the music providing the emotional background to help drive the message home. I could write a book about how the music accentuates the message, it is truly a magical thing.
The era of music we love here is indeed a "once of", never was before, never will happen again.
To this end, I wanted to create a theme that respects that artistry. Last week, I mentioned songs about the passage of time and perspective. I don't think that idea quite caught on, and that's OK.
Another idea, heard John Sebastian say "but it's like trying to tell a stranger 'bout Rock and Roll. Question: If you had one song to demonstrate the magic of rock to them, what would it be?
For all of you who have figured out my various incarnations, the times I have soared, and the times I have been ridiculed, my love of the music makes it all worthwhile.
On a very special level, all of you who appreciate/love the music like I do are kindred souls. There's a deep connection we share, and I respect that.
On We Go!
