I love all the different versions of the classic song “Stand By Me”, and John Lennon definitely nailed it with his cover we heard just now. And for “Ain’t That a Shame” on the other hand, a tune that believe it or not (I think) came out originally in the mid 1950s by Fats Domino, then made famous by Cheap Trick in the early 1980s, love both versions of the song, and I was definitely digging the cover by John Lennon played just now. John Lennon’s version came out in 1975 so that was between Fats Domino and Cheap Trick’s version. I don’t think I can recall hearing Lennon’s version until now, and it’s that type of song/cover of a popular song that I’ve been wondering where it has been my whole life. I was still groovin’ to it either way.
