Bob, you asked about this band and the relationship with the Rare Breed last week. I looked it up.

The name "Ohio Express" was a brand name used by Jerry Kasenetz and Jeff Katz of Super K Productions. The studio recordings were performed by different musicians. Super K hired a different band Sir Timothy & The Royals to appear as Ohio Express on live performances, and be photographed as Ohio Express but they were mainly the touring band. Some of the lead vocals on Ohio Express ongs are sung by the lead singer of the touring band.

"Beg Borrow & Steal" was indeed originally by a group called Rare Breed, somehow Super K got the rights to this recording after a legal falling-out with the Rare Breed. Super K then remixed and re-released the song under the name "Ohio Express", so apparently the two recordings are different mixes. That is when Super K hired The Royals, and completed the first Ohio Express album which include the Rare Breed's "Beg Borrow & Steal" remix.

So it was a FAKE group all this time!
