We knew it was coming, but that does not make it any easier.

I've had MANY cats in my lifetime.
She was much more than just a pet cat.
She was special.
When we adopted her in 2018 she was renamed "Sierra" by Mary Ellen Brown.
Her previous humans abandoned her.
She acted feral at first. It took a while for her to accept us. She was likely traumatized by being abandoned.
Once she accepted us, she showed the ability to make long leaps to my shoulders.
I started calling her "SuperCat". She started responding to that name. The name stuck!
She'd make flying leaps from our big freezer to my shoulders. It was about 8 feet!
One of her favorite places was to be on my shoulders. I remember her spending a few hours on my shoulders. I got used to it :) .
She became a frequent co-star on the show, adding meows to my comments.
Other times she'd hear my voice coming out of the monitor speakers and come over and rub on the microphone.
She'd frequently get in the way on the work bench. She just wanted to be involved.
When we had guests visiting, she'd always be there, socializing. A feline "hostess". Our other 2 cats made themselves scarce.
She would nearly always be there at the door to greet us when we came home. Most cats couldn't care less.
I could go on...
She succomed to the feline equivalent of breast cancer.
By the time we got her to the vet it was too far advanced for anything to be done.
In fact, she likely was pre-disposed, from early in her life, to eventually get it.
Nothing we could do.
She may have been only a pet cat, but she'll be seriously missed and can NEVER, EVER be replaced.
